Projects

On this page I intend to write a few lines about the, for me, most interesting projects that I have been working on on my spare time.

Edvin&Elliot web page

Edvin&Elliot web page

The Edvin&Elliot web page is a kind of showroom for the jewelry brand Edvin&Elliot that my wife owns. It is not a full-blown e-commerce site but you can browse the different collections and view pictures of the beautiful accessories.

The HTML code/CSS follows the “responsive web design” guidelines so that the same code is used on all platforma, i.e. there is no special mobile version.

Some tech stuff:

The web site is built from ground up using Visual Studio 2012. Currently it is based on ASP.NET 4/MVC 4 (since at the time I started the project my hosting provider, Binero, didn’t support 4.5), HTML5 and a mixture of server-side C# code and client-side JavaScript. Here are the relevant keywords:

  • ASP.NET 4
  • MVC 4
  • HTML5
  • JavaScript
  • jQuery
  • Modernizr
  • SQL Server 2010 Compact Edition (development only)
  • Entity Framework 4 Code-First

Mjölk&bröd

http://mjolkochbrod.azurewebsites.net

Mjölk&bröd (Swedish for Milk&bread) is an intelligent shopping list application  that addresses a everyday-problem that we experienced here at home by moving our physical post-it note shopping list to the cloud. The intelligent thing about Mjölk&bröd is that it makes your shopping more efficient by helping you create “virtual store maps” and categorizes the products so that when adding a product to the shopping list it automatically appears in the right section in all stores that are associated with the product.

The application is storing its data in the cloud (Windows Azure) and exposes an ordinary desktop web page for planning and a mobile web page for use when in the store.

Some tech stuff:

The application is built using Visual Studio 2012 and Bitbucket/Mercurial source Control. It is designed as a single-page application (SPA) and is based on ASP.NET 4.5/MVC 4, HTML5 and a lot JavaScript. The back-end is implemented in C#.

  • ASP.NET 4.5
  • MVC 4
  • HTML5
  • JavaScript
  • jQuery
  • jQuery UI
  • jQuery Mobile
  • Knockout.js
  • Windows Azure
  • Single-page application (SPA)
  • Entity Framework 4 Code-First (with Migrations)
